John Denver, a singer-songwriter from Colorado who was a specialist in folk-pop music touched the hearts of millions. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell new Mexico, but fell in love Colorado. He eventually moved to Aspen. More than a few people beat a path through Colorado following the Denver's cult songs for his home state. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame says it is true that John Denver is unlike any other musician who represents Colorado. Denver was the Hall of Fame's first ever to be inducted. He is now the international face of Colorado. Certainly in my travels you meet someone from the other side of the world or someone who is from New Zealand and you say 'I'm from Colorado and the first thing out of their mouth is Oh John Denver! Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads was one of Denver's top 10 hits following a performance with a smaller folk groups. The song was written and performed by Bill Danoff. Danoff was credited with Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the track, however Denver discovered that it was destined to turn into a hit once he heard an earlier version. After singing to an enthusiastic crowd in Washington D.C., the artist recorded the song.
